This one-hour presentation thoroughly explores the bio-psycho-social aspects of tobacco use disorder specific to individuals with mental and substance use disorders. A description of a systems approach for integrating tobacco interventions into existing services is provided.

  1. Define the origin of prevailing tobacco-related social norms in the treatment & recovery culture.
  2. Cite data to demonstrate that Pennsylvanians with mental & substance use disorders have disproportional tobacco-related health disparities & inadequate access to appropriate tobacco treatment services.
